Traders start planning

17/08/2008 11:30:00 PM
On Saturday August 9, members of the City Plaza Traders Association began a strategic planning process.

Association president Joanne Marshall said the process would result in a three-year plan.

"We are setting strategic goals and objectives for the Plaza, and strategies to achieve those within a reasonable timeframe," Ms Marshall said.

"The three main categories we are addressing include the precinct, positioning and marketing of the precinct, and partnerships both internal and external.

"Undertaking this process will give the association more credibility, especially when dealing with organisations such as Whyalla City Council, Whyalla Economic Development Board and the Chamber of Commerce amongst others."

Mark Whitfield facilitated the process for the association, and said the day went well.

"A great start has been made, a strategic plan will enable the City Plaza Traders Association to move forward with clearer objectives, and pathways to meet those objectives in an achievable and time realistic manner," Mr Whitfield said.

The strategic plan is currently with association members for comment, and should be finalised within the next month.
