Wanderers Soccer Club members celebrated the clubs golden anniversary on Saturday, celebrating 50 years in Whyalla.

Anniversary celebrations were held at the club, with a full house of past and present members enjoying the festivities.

Wanderer's member Christine Atkinson said there were a few special guests, including MC from Adelaide Adrian Hart.

Adrian performed a remake of the hit 'We didn't start the fire', and substituted Wanderers names into the version making it a spectacular hit on the evening.

Past player, and former 'Midnight' band member Albert McGirr was also part of the celebrations, performing a club favourite 'Sunday Morning'

Christine said the song was great and everybody enjoyed it.

The Owen Dawson Bar was officially named on the night, recognising Owens club membership since 1964.

Celebrations carried on through the long weekend with a family day on Sunday that everyone could enjoy.

Christine said local players played a game of soccer against returned players during the day, which was a crowd pleaser.
