Woman stabbed

A 48-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed on Thursday night.

Police are investigating the alleged incident, that happened on Galpin Street in Whyalla Stuart.

A report made to Whyalla Police alleged a woman had stabbed another woman in the leg.

"Police attended and ascertained a female had been stabbed with a small knife to the lower leg," Whyalla police Senior Sergeant Andrew Bartlett said.

"Extensive enquiries were conducted on the night but the suspect was not located."

According to Senior Sergeant Bartlett the suspect and victim knew each other.

Police have since discovered the suspect is now residing in Adelaide.

"Arrangements have been made for Adelaide police to interview her," Senior Sergeant Bartlett said.

The victim sustained minor injuries during the alleged attack.
