Lions travel to play Croatia

16/05/2008 10:49:00 AM
Lions will travel to Croatia Park this Sunday to take on Croatia in what is expected to be a crunch game for both sides.

Since both sides came off two-one losses last weekend each side will be keen to make amends and get their title aspirations back on track with a win.

With both sides sporting quite formidable attacking options each side should have aspirations which include a high level of pressing the oppositions defence, although past performances would suggest that defensively a little more work must be done to stifle opposition attackers scoring options.

While it is still early days, teams should now be getting comfortable with each others styles of play and should already be building on team work and moving in the same direction to the benefit of the club.

Regardless of how either side is travelling at the moment, this should be quite a game for spectators with each side boasting a number of exciting players capable of turning a game in the favour of their respective clubs.

Mistakes are still quite common at this time of year and will be present throughout the season, but it is now that the mistakes must be curtailed if a side is to gather any momentum.

Each mistake that results in a goal has a damaging effect on the morale of the incumbent and if a side is to gain dominance, morale must be at a higher level than the rest of the pack.

It is these types of games where momentum can be built.

Each side knows the quality of the opposition they will be facing this weekend so a victory will provide so much more than just the two championship points on offer.

This is an opportunity to get the ball rolling in terms of letting opposition teams know that they will have things all their own way this season.

If you are looking for an entertaining game of soccer this weekend, get down to Croatia Park on Sunday.

See you there!
