It's that time again where Whyalla is preparing to host its annual fight night.
Local fighter and trainer Steve Storic is gearing up his gym to battle it out against some of Australia's best boxers.
Local competitors include Whyalla's first female boxer Chelsea Diggle who is current Australian silver medallist.
There are no opponents within Chelsea's division in South Australia and the search is on for an interstate challenger.
Shaun Schaaf undefeated in previous months and recently winning the gold medal in the State Titles will be seeking revenge with his only defeat against a top class boxer from Barossa 'Josh Vidito'.
Dave Walsh will be putting his skill and power to the test when he steps up into the heavy weight division for his fourth fight.
Making a recent come back is Chris Reid whose last battle was in 2002 - now in top condition he will be competing in the middle weight division against a Morphett Vale opponent.
Local fighter Tom Dunn is preparing for his first bout where he will be competing in the light welter weight division.
His steady hard training has earned his place in the Whyalla fight team with his skill and agility matching the blood line of his uncle, a previous fighting champion.
Whyalla Boxing and Fitness Club has its very own smiling assassin in the newest rising star Rory XC, making his fighting debut at the local fight night.
Rory will be taking up the challenge in the junior middle weight division.
Rory has bought his own style to the gym with his confident stride and unique approach.
His smiling face may be a pleasant feature on the outside, but on the inside his courage and continuous attacking style is a force to be reckoned with.
This fight will prove to be a crowd pleaser.
The 'Fight Night' will include local singer Haley Marshal performing in centre ring to set the mood for the action packed night full of entertainment.
Making their return are the crowd pleasing and delightful ring card girls, as well as dance performances and competitions for the crowd.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Westland Hotel Reception or at the door on the night.
Doors to open at 6.30pm on Saturday, September 13, 2008.
Now with Whyalla's Boxing and Fitness Club reaching its peak, the fighters are ready to battle the best.
Although trainer Steve Storic is preparing his fighters for their local competition, he is also training for his third professional fight to be held in Barossa on November 1, 2008 and competing for his 11th South Australian title here in Whyalla in March 2009.
He has already started to condition himself and striving please the crowd, where he is determined to hold his undefeated record in his home town of Whyalla.
