Lions will travel to Dakalanta Park this Saturday to take on Westlands United in one of the most important clashes of the season. Whilst neither team are currently holding top spot on the Whyalla Soccer League, both teams are firmly in the title race and will seek to get the better of their rival.

Both sides have been undefeated for a number of games and will hope to continue this run of form, yet both will also realise that this game represents the chance to get their team in a good position coming in to the last round of games.

Westlands are yet to beat Lions this year in the league but are always extremely competitive and have not had the luck sometimes required to win these types of games. Having said that Westlands were able to beat Lions 4-1 in the League cup final early on in the season indicating that anything can happen when these two clubs take the field together.

Ultimately the most hungry team will emerge as victors from this game. Both sides contain talented individuals and both teams have the ability to gel and play some really attractive football. Hopefully this type of football will be on display for spectators this weekend and if so then this has all the markings of potentially being the game of the year. Lets not get too carried away though. Both Westlands and Lions will be looking to stay tight defensively and not give their opposition anything. If this is the case then goal-scoring opportunities will be hard to come by and will emphasize the need for midfielders to become a little more creative in their approach.

I think that this game will be a game that will have a number of goals scored as each side has proving their ability to score goals this year.
