Wanderers travelled to Jenkins Park on Sunday to face Lions in Round 11 action of the Whyalla Soccer League.
From the offset Lions controlled the game but were unable to hit the back of the net allowing the blue team to keep their head above the water early in the game.
The Wanderers line up had quite a lot of young inexperienced players who were earning their stripes by being thrown in the deep end and to their credit the youth of Wanderers performed admirably.
Whilst the first half remained at nil all, Lions did have a number of good chances to get the game rolling.
Aaron Peacock and Manuel Gonzales found themselves in very good positions early in the half but were unable to convert from close range.
The first goal would come early in the second half when Daniel Rhodes received a good ball from the midfield and with an exceptional first touch, played himself into space to finish off calmly.
Gonzales was next to find the net as he made up for an earlier miss.
Manny made no mistake the second time blasting the ball into the net.
The third goal was reserved for Lions forward Aaron Peacock.
Aaron produced a fine poachers goal when knocking in a low cross with his right foot.
This completed the scoring although Lions did hit the post and crossbar on a number of occasions and probably should have had a few more goals on their tally.
