The division one men’s game was played on Saturday between Stuart and Steel City.
In a tough game between old rivals, Steel City started the better of the two teams scoring an early goal through Stacey Theologou.
Both teams then settled and started to play a good style of hockey with both teams putting pressure on each others defences but it was Stuart who got the next goal when Stuart veteran Evan Conyard scored to put his team back on level terms.
Both teams continued to attack and their defences were holding strong until the last 15 seconds of the half when Stuart were awarded a short corner scored by Stuart’s Kale Todd to give Stuart a one goal buffer at half time.
The second half was played at a fast pace with both teams trying to dominate but it was Steel City who scored when Stacey Theologou scored again to level the score.
Steel City were testing the Stuart defence and were able to score when Nick Theologou put one in the back of the net to give Steel the lead.
But Stuart was not beaten yet as they pressured the Steel goal which saw David Burd score with 15 minutes left in the half.
The game became an arm wrestle with both teams looking for the winning goal but it was Steel City who scored when Stacey Theologou scored his hat trick to win the game for Steel City.

Waratah continued to attack the Steel goal and were able to score again.
Steel tried to get back in the game but with only nine players Waratah were finding too much room and were peppering the Steel goal with Steel keeper Fiona Rhind trying in vain to keep the ball out of her net.
Once again it was Waratah who scored again to give them a three goal lead at the half time break.
