 Planter boxes robbed

Planter boxes robbed

The Editor,

Just how low can you get?

On Sunday morning neighbours came to inform me that the large planter boxes in the McGee Family Park had been robbed.

Most of the potting mix had been stolen.

These boxes had been left for new soil to settle in after the salad vegies grown all summer had finally finished.

We, Neighbourhood Watch 264 have always bought the good potting mix with all the nutrients added.

At $10.90 a bag and 17 bags per planter box it was quite a haul.

The thieves probably left the equivilent of three or four bags.

At the moment we are desperately trying to get the money to put a shade roof canopy over the children's playground, which we very soon will be dedicating to the memory of little Mitchell Quinn, and to have to take $300 plus out of this would hurt a lot of people.

Thankfully Whyalla City Council and Tim Butt have offered to refill the boxes for us for which we are very grateful.

Whoever you are I hope your armpits get infested with fleas, and your hands are too weak to cope with them.

Disgusted.
